Voters go to the polls today in the Queensland election. The contest will be between 453 candidates in 93 electorates. Full preferential voting has been re-introduced for the first time since 1992, meaning that voters will have to direct a preference for all candidates other than their first preference choice. The flow of preferences from minor parties like the Greens, One Nation and Australian Conservatives may be crucial in determining the winner in many seats.
